AI Engineer - LLM/VLM

We are looking for a LLM / VLM expert to strengthen our team in Zurich. The goal of this position is the development and fine-tuning of state of the art LLM and VLM models to enable our robots to reason about the world and to interact and communicate with humans.

Of particular interest is the interface to the lower-level control modules.

Hands-on experience in training and fine-tuning of large language models (LLM), multi model models such as vision language models (VLM) or language-conditioned models such as stable diffusion or character animation models.

Experience with robotic systems is a plus but not required.

Particularly:

1. PhD or master's degree in machine learning or robotics with relevant project experience in LLMs (e.g. master thesis).
2. Excellent knowledge of Python, PyTorch and the training and fine-tuning of LLMs and VLMs.
3. Knowledge of language-conditioned generative models such as stable diffusion or character animation.
4. Experience in deploying these models in real-time in the cloud.
5. Good knowledge of state of the art machine learning architectures.

We are looking for a person who enjoys working in a team in a very dynamic and fast-moving environment, and who is able and willing to take ownership of projects and decisions.

We at Flexion Robotics (flexion.ai) are a young company in Zurich working on the next generation of humanoid robot software to enable robots to perform useful tasks autonomously.

We work dynamically and move fast. The team is still fairly small and every new employee at this stage will have significant ownership of their current project.
