Are you an experienced Risk Professional with a keen interest in Sustainability/ESG or an experienced Sustainability/ESG Professional with a keen interest in Risk? Are you familiar with critical regulatory developments (including FINMA circular 26/01, EBA, TCFD, CSRD, etc.) and thought leadership in this domain?

As a member of the Second Line of Defence Risk team, you will have the opportunity to support how the Group future-proofs its approach to managing, mitigating, and monitoring Sustainability/ESG risk. Your involvement will be far-reaching, involving multiple Client Segments and Support Functions while you deliver on the key pillars of the ESG risk framework. Your ability to work with minimal supervision, own your tasks, and adapt will be critical.

What would your role be?

  • Navigate the complexities of a relatively new and emerging Risk Type (Sustainability/ESG Risk) as part of a small but highly regarded team based in Zurich.
  • Engage directly with Stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts to operate and deliver on the core pillars of the Sustainability/ESG Risk Framework, including tools, policies, and processes for effective risk management.
  • Disseminate the Framework and its principles via targeted training and ongoing awareness initiatives.
  • Support the annual ESG Risk assessment across all risk types.
  • Support monitoring of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) related to Sustainability/ESG risk, identify trends, and work with process and control owners for remediation; support the annual review cycle of KRIs, propose updates, and design additional KRIs as relevant.
  • Liaise with colleagues (including Primary Risk, Compliance, Corporate Social Responsibility) and represent ESG Risk in working groups, project steering committees, and governance fora as required.
  • Assist in the readiness assessment for FINMA circular 26/01 and ensure compliance with its requirements.

What are we looking for?

  • Strong skills and experience in risk management or Sustainability/ESG, with at least 5 years in financial services, ideally in Risk, Sustainability, or Consulting roles.
  • Familiarity with developing and implementing sustainability and climate risk frameworks within financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of and interest in regulatory developments impacting Sustainability Risk, especially in Switzerland and the EU.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to tailor your style to different audiences.
  • A commitment to excellence, attention to detail, and flexibility to manage multiple priorities with complex dependencies.
  • An analytical mindset, ownership attitude, and ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical solutions.
  • Professional working proficiency in both German and English.
