The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and creative UX designer to join our team and contribute to the development of the web user interfaces for our robotic systems.

In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the future of robotic user interfaces and revolutionize how humans interact with robots. The scope of your work includes development and UX design for the web user interface and web-based applications of our autonomous legged robots ANYmal and ANYmal X. You will collaborate as One Team with our in-house development team and our Principal product Designer to design and follow the implementation of the next generation of web user interface for the management of autonomous legged robots.

Your Impact

As a Web UX Designer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our company. By leveraging your expertise in web UX design, you will create intuitive and harmonious interfaces for our robotic systems. Your designs will simplify complex interactions and streamline user workflows (including specific robot application workflows), resulting in a seamless and enjoyable experience for our customers. Your attention to detail and understanding of user-centric design principles will help us deliver exceptional interfaces that set us apart from our competitors.

You will contribute to revolutionizing Human-Robot Interaction. The field of robotics is rapidly evolving, and your role will be instrumental in shaping the way humans interact with (autonomous) robots. Your innovative UX design work will enable users to control and monitor robots effortlessly, fostering efficient collaboration and productivity.

Your high-quality wireframes and understanding of user interactions will enhance the overall value proposition of our robotic systems, leading to increased customer satisfaction, performance, and product adoption.

In this position, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including UI and product designers, engineers, and product managers. The Market & Our Technology

ANYbotics transforms the industrial sector by introducing robotics to a wide range of novel applications that so far were beyond reach (see our case studies in Chemicals, Oil & Gas, Railways, Wind Energy, Mining, Construction). Our customers are large asset operators and service providers of industrial plants pioneering robotics technology for inspection and maintenance. Our solution enables autonomous routine inspections and monitoring of large-scale industrial facilities for increased safety and productivity. We develop numerous customized hardware systems, including the entire robotic platform, actuators, sensors, inspection payloads, charging systems, and software to achieve world-class mobility, autonomy, and inspection capabilities, often based on AI. We have proven the technology and the business impact on our customers in long-term pilot projects. We are now scaling the commercialization of our solution(s) and deploying directly into operation at customer facilities worldwide.

Your Contributions

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement innovative web user interfaces for robotic systems.
Design clean and intuitive web experiences to enhance user experience and streamline human-robot interactions.
Conduct user research to understand user strategies and operators’ needs, and integrate them into our UX design.
Conduct usability evaluations to ensure high-quality and user-friendly UI implementations.
Stay updated with the latest web UX/UI trends.
Advocate for user needs and conduct research to integrate them into UX design.
Prototype and develop solutions in collaboration with engineers, front-end developers, and UX designers.
Ensure UI consistency and best practices by establishing design system documentation.
Take ownership of design projects from concept to final implementation.
Work closely with the product team, customers, and stakeholders to understand user needs, create concepts, and drive innovation

Your Profile

Ideally 5+ years of experience as a professional User Experience Designer working directly on wireframes for Mobile and Desktop applications
Proven experience as a Web UX/UI Designer with a strong portfolio showcasing web design projects, demonstrating an ability to design intuitive and user-centered interfaces for complex technical products
Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to structure and prioritize complex situations
Excellent at working with engineering teams and aligning cross-functional teams for successful outcomes
Excellent at structuring content and workflows into intuitive, user-friendly experiences of complex systems
Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and best practices
Strong experience in user research and usability testing, including conducting interviews, tests, and other user research methods to guide design improvements
Excellent communication of design concepts through sketches and prototypes
Understanding of FE Technologies (Angular) and how to apply them to great design
Know how in applying accessibility standards to create inclusive experiences for all users
Proven record of maintaining UX documentation (personas, journey maps, reports)

Bonus Points

Knowledge of system engineering and robotics
Experience in designing user interfaces for deep tech products is a plus.
Experience in data visualization is a plus.
Experience in Mobile applications design
