ADNOC Global Trading LTD (“AGT”) seeks an ambitious, motivated, Treasury Manager- FX (AGT Europe) to join its Finance Office team in Geneva Switzerland.

Incorporated in the Abu Dhabi Global Market, Abu Dhabi’s international financial centre, AGT commenced commercial operations in December 2020. It is owned by ADNOC (65%), Eni (20%) and OMV (15%). Head quartered in Abu Dhabi, it has ambitious plans for global growth. AGT has already established a subsidiary in Singapore which commenced operations this year and expects to open in Europe and the US in the near future.
AGT’s business is focused on the physical trading of crude oil, condensate, liquid feedstock and refined oil products, risk management activities (including hedging), shipping and chartering, storage and management of inventories, the trading of oil related derivatives and other ancillary activities.
JOB PURPOSE:
Specialist Treasury FX is primarily responsible and accountable for supporting the Cash Management Department Manager in managing all relevant Treasury activities including executing and monitoring foreign exchange transactions, analysing market trends, managing FX risk, and supporting other various Treasury initiatives. Being expertise in FX markets, financial analysis, and risk management, the Specialist Treasury FX will be pivotal in helping the company navigate the complexities of the global financial landscape and manage foreign exchange exposures for AGT on a global basis.
Job Specific Accountabilities
General
- Part of the Global Treasury team covering Treasury operations in support of global AGT business including liquidity management, foreign exchange management including hedging FX exposures in a manner consistent with company’s policies and procedures.
- Assist the global team to monitor and analyze currency market trends to identify potential opportunities and risks to improve the treasury processes and drive efficiencies.
- Collaborate with traders, brokers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate FX execution.
- As part of the Treasury team, responsible for ensuring foreign exchange exposures are managed and reported correctly on a daily basis including reporting of daily PnL.
- Play a role in defining, designing and implementing foreign exchange management systems and structures in coordination with Global AGT Treasury Team, Middle Office and IT.
- Develop and cultivate long-term relationships with regional and international banks, brokers and financial institutions to be able to communicate and negotiate FX transactions and rates effectively.
- Execute FX hedging instruments (Spot/Forwards, or any other instruments authorized as per the Treasury Policy including Hedging Strategy) as part of the wider Treasury team in order to manage FX exposures created by AGT trading and other activities.
- Assist the wider Treasury team in bank reconciliations, payables and receivables and cash management activities.
- Provide Treasury knowledge and advice to the wider AGT Europe team as and when required.
- Assist in keeping all Treasury policies and procedures up to date and fit for purpose.
- Ensure that all activities undertaken are within allocated policies, procedures and limits.
- Assist the overall Treasury team in publishing regular treasury reports.

Budgets and Operational Plans
- Assist the Cash Management Department Manager with the development and management of the Department annual budget in line with AGT’s business objectives and operational plans ensuring that adequate funding provision is made for all Department activities.
- Assist the Cash Management Department Manager in monitoring expenditure against approved Department budget on a regular basis; investigate, highlight and reconcile any significant variances to ensure effective performance and cost control.
Financial Analysis:
- Analyze and interpret financial data related to FX transactions and positions.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations detailing FX performance, exposures, and recommendations for improvement.
- Conduct periodic evaluations of hedging effectiveness and suggest refinements as needed.
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
- Stay updated with relevant regulatory guidelines and industry best practices in FX trading and risk management.
- Assist in developing and implementing appropriate Department policies, processes, systems, standards, procedures and internal controls, and AGT guidelines in order to support execution of the Division’s work programs in line with AGT and International standards.
Organisation Structure and Development
- Assist with the review and development of the appropriate organisation structure for the Department that will best utilise Human Capital while proactively incorporating sustainability into on-going work practices to meet the business objectives.
Risk Management
- Contribute and support the establishment of a Corporate Integrated Risk Management System within the Department, while identifying and assessing relevant domain risks across the company’s operations, especially those related to Foreign Exchange.
- Develop and implement effective hedging strategies to mitigate FX risk and protect against adverse currency movements.
- Monitor and report on FX risk metrics, providing insights to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
- Promote an organisation culture that encourages innovation, enhances employee motivation and supports initiatives for implementation of Change Management to continuously improve the Department operations and services.
- Recommend improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with relevant standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the Department.
Reports
- Ensure that all Department progress reports are prepared to provide accurate and timely information to AGT Management to effectively manage the business.
- Ensure that all Foreign Exchange exposures and PnL are reported on a timely basis and accurately.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualification
- BSc or equivalent in Finance or related field required.
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
- 5 – 10 years of diversified international treasury experience with large Banks or multinational companies in Oil and Gas Sector.
- Specific experience in foreign exchange trading, risk management, financial analysis and in-depth knowledge of global FX markets, hedging strategies, and financial instruments.
- Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance related to FX activities.
- Experience of dealing with banking products, raising bilateral/syndicated credit facilities and managing relationships in a large bank or a corporate trading environment.
- Very strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to handle and communicate complex financial information.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data, highly organized and team development capabilities.
- Understanding and knowledge of treasury management systems and platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
