Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in a Start-up
Cortexia is the market leader in AI-powered solutions for environmental management, focusing on urban cleanliness and waste management. As we expand internationally, we are seeking a CFO to join our leadership team.
As CFO, you will serve as the strategic link between financial planning and daily operations. Your responsibilities include analyzing business needs, optimizing financial processes, managing accounting operations, overseeing budgeting, and playing a key role in fundraising. You will report directly to the CEO and collaborate with the Board of Directors.
Your responsibilities:
- Implement financial strategies aligned with company goals, including participation in funding rounds.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and monitor key financial KPIs.
- Manage accounting, payroll, and administrative tasks, while improving financial processes.
- Monitor cash flow and ensure liquidity, maintaining profitability through analytical accounting.
- Ensure accurate bookkeeping, timely financial statements, and compliance with Swiss tax and regulatory standards.
- Liaise with auditors, tax, legal advisors, and regulators to ensure compliance and external partnerships.
- Prepare and present financial reports to the Board and shareholders.
What you bring:
- A degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (e.g., HEG, HEC, Swiss federal diploma).
- Several years of experience in a senior finance role, ideally within a fast-growing company, SME, or fiduciary.
- Strong analytical skills, strategic mindset, and ability to align financial planning with business objectives.
- Proficiency in French and English; German is a plus.
- High adaptability and excellent communication skills to thrive in a dynamic startup environment.
