Senior DevOps Engineer / Cloud Architect (Azure)

For our client in Zurich, we are looking for an experienced, and motivated Senior DevOps Engineer / Cloud Architect (Azure).

Our client is looking for a skilled and proactive Senior DevOps Engineer / Cloud Architect (Azure) to help shape the architecture of a new, cloud-native trading platform. The role involves addressing key challenges such as security, red zone integration, NSG rules, and ingress strategies, while also evaluating potential WMPC connectivity.

They are seeking a strong communicator with the drive to challenge the status quo and push solutions forward in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Tasks :

• Architect and implement complex infrastructure solutions onMicrosoft Azure, with a focus onAKS,DMZ,firewall policies, andSwiss region-specific restrictions
• Lead the transition ofIstio-based service meshto a modern,Helm / Helm Charts-driven deployment model
• Review and challenge existingInfrastructure-as-Code (IaC)implementations usingTerraform, ensuring compliance, scalability, and best practices
• Provide architectural guidance onnetworking,firewall rules, andcommunication flowsbetweenon-premises systemsandAzure public cloud
• Act as aDevSecOps consultant, advising on secure deployment patterns, group policies, and governance
• Coach and mentor engineering teams, offering senior-level consultancy onVMs,policies,DevOps pipelines, andautomation

Requirements :

• Proven experience in setting up large-scale Azure cloud data centers
• Deep expertise inAzure Cloud ArchitectureandAKS best practices
• Strong understanding ofDMZ,Service Mesh (Istio), andTerraform
• Solid grasp ofDevOps conceptsand ability to reviewInfrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Ability to critically assess and improve current architecture and implementation
• Experience withUnix,Shell scripting,Ansible, andPython
• Strong understanding ofnetworking principles,security compliance, andcloud governance
• Ability toreview code,challenge architectural decisions, anddrive improvements
• Fluent in English (spoken and written), German is a plus
