Deliverables

  1. Technical Products: Develop and monitor project management plans for technical product development. Facilitate meetings (draft agenda, emails, approvals). Organize meetings with expert networks for input. Draft and edit WHO technical products, incorporating reviewer feedback. Support dissemination of technical products and contribute to product launches.
  2. Technical Guidance to Member States: Conduct situational analyses of cardiovascular disease control in selected Member States. Develop reports with current status and recommendations. Draft operational strategies for implementing recommendations. Prepare for country missions and draft reports of meetings.
  3. Contribution to CVD Coverage Targets: Provide guidance on designing and implementing national cardiovascular disease control plans. Offer technical advice on policies and activities. Assist stakeholders in finalizing plans and prioritizing interventions.
  4. Grant Proposals: Coordinate inputs for donor proposals. Draft narratives, budgets, and technical/financial reports. Prepare supporting materials for donor meetings.

Qualifications, Experience, Skills, and Languages

Educational Qualifications:

  • Essential: Advanced university degree in public health, medicine, epidemiology, pharmacology, or related fields.
  • Desirable: Advanced degree in a CVD-related field from a recognized institution.

Experience:

  • Essential: Minimum 10 years in cardiovascular diseases and public health; proven record of high-quality product delivery; at least three peer-reviewed publications; experience working in low- and middle-income countries.
  • Desirable: Experience with WHO/UN agencies, project management.

Skills:

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively; prioritize tasks; meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Languages:

  • Essential: Expert knowledge of English.
  • Desirable: Intermediate knowledge of other WHO languages.

Location: Off-site, home-based.

Travel: The consultant is expected to travel.

Remuneration: Band level C - USD 10,000 - 12,500 per month.

Contract Duration: 6 months, with potential for extension based on needs and performance.
