Job Description
Reporting directly to the Financial Director, the Business Finance Manager supports the Commercial Departments through the entire business planning cycle (including LRP, PLAN, LBE) and performs actual performance analyses of business results (sales, expenses) against benchmarks. As a trusted finance advisor, the Business Finance Manager provides ad-hoc financial analyses as needed and actively participates as a member of the commercial brand team.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a dedicated trusted partner for the respective commercial department.
- Be a key team member within the finance team.
- Develop financial strategies aligned with the company’s strategic objectives.
- Provide financial counsel and analysis for strategic growth initiatives, monitor local operations against forecasts, and assess risks and opportunities.
- Deliver actual monthly and quarterly financial data compliant with European and local reporting requirements.
- Support management with reporting and administrative functions.
- Lead the development and preparation of comprehensive financial business plans and analyses.
- Advise management on profit maximization, licensing strategies, resource prioritization, and operational matters.
- Anticipate market activities that could impact the business.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, SoX, US GAAP, Local GAAP, and tax regulations.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting preferred; a bachelor’s degree is required.
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, planning, and financial analysis.
- Business acumen, ideally in the pharmaceutical sector.
- Knowledge of US GAAP, SoX, and preferably local GAAP.
- Broad financial knowledge, including Gross to Net and expense management.
- Proficiency with Office, SAP S/4HANA (including APT and BPC modules), and Power BI.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
