Your impact

Cisco Isovalent is seeking an experienced engineer to work on Envoy development and integration in Isovalent products. You’ll contribute to Cilium’s Envoy and Isovalent’s Load Balancer into its C++ codebase, their Go control plane and sometimes down to eBPF. You will work with a highly collaborative and skilled team to build solutions that advance the next generation of networking and security in Kubernetes environments.

You will

  • Develop high-quality code to integrate Envoy into larger projects, like Cilium or its Load Balancer
  • Implement new Envoy features
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to Envoy and Cilium integration.
  • Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and contribute to technical documentation.
  • Possibility to speak at public conferences about achievements (if desired).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Go and C++ or similar languages
  • Experience in networking concepts and protocols
  • Experience with Envoy proxy or similar projects development and their internals

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge about Linux systems design, security and/or networking, Linux kernel
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Cloud Native workloads and/or distributed systems
  • Desire to write high quality and efficient code
  • Experience designing and implementing APIs
  • A public track record of open-source code commits is a plus
