Product Development Merchandiser (m / f / x) temporary

Carhartt WIP is part of the WIP Trading AG. Our family-owned business group started as a licensee and European distributor of the US workwear manufacturer Carhartt in the early 1990s. Since then, it develops its own collections based on workwear originals.

Carhartt Work In Progress aims to continuously progress and evolve, without ever losing sight of its origins. Over the course of the past two decades, our business has developed organically, along with its customers, the culture that surrounds the brand, and its employees who have helped shape what Carhartt WIP is today.

We are looking for you to join our headquarters in Basel as soon as possible as a Product Development Merchandiser (m/f/x) on a temporary basis for one year.

Your Responsibilities:

1. Work together with design and the creative director to develop collections from the initial idea through to the production stage.
2. Maintain close communication with our agencies (Hong Kong & Dhaka) and suppliers in Asia to research materials.
3. Responsible for body fabrics, trimmings, colours, and prints; provide comments and approvals during collection and bulk production.
4. Set quality approvals in ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics Navision).
5. Request samples from suppliers and manage sample processes to ensure timely delivery.
6. Participate in fittings, follow up on changes, and manage product specifications in YPLM.
7. Attend internal and external meetings.

Your Profile:

1. Experience with body fabrics, trimmings, colours, and prints; ability to give comments and approvals during collection and bulk production.
2. Ability to present products effectively.
3. Attention to detail and good product sensibility.
4. Strong sense of teamwork, excellent communication skills, and a hands-on mentality.
5. Fluent in English and German; French is a plus; additional languages are warmly welcomed.
6. Independent and organized working style; proficient in MS Office, ERP systems, and YPLM.
