If so, this could be the role for you! We’re searching for a Panel Assistant to join the Sensory team in Lausanne, Switzerland. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a Food Science background seeking a new challenge in sensory research.

Key Responsibilities

About the role

The Panel Assistant reports to the Sensory Manager, supporting the smooth running of sensory projects by managing activities related to sensory panel sessions, laboratory operations, and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain sensory kitchen/laboratory functionality by managing supplies and verifying receipt of products
  • Receive, store, and prepare samples/materials for sensory sessions
  • Research, source, prepare, and manage sensory references and products
  • Program sensory software (EyeQuestion) for data collection (training provided)
  • Follow research protocols, including test design and solutions preparation
  • Prepare and clean sensory panel working areas and equipment for each session
  • Ensure activities comply with food hygiene standards
  • Maintain and improve Standard Operating Procedures for the kitchen laboratory
  • Assist the Sensory Manager with administrative tasks (e.g., scheduling, database updates, coordinating with panellists)
  • Provide basic sensory panel training and independently run evaluation sessions
  • Coordinate candidate screening sessions
  • Foster a positive working environment at MMR

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Degree in Food Science/Sensory Science or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in French and English
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Self-management and flexibility
  • Leadership and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to stand for up to 8 hours and lift packages up to 20kg
  • Proactivity and multitasking in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Hands-on sensory lab experience is a plus
