The Role
We’re looking for an Engineering Lead for AirConsole who knows how to get things done. Our development team is technically extremely strong — we want to complement it with someone who can turn business priorities into sharp execution.
You’ll be the one who keeps the wheels turning: cutting through overcomplicated specs, steering delivery, and making sure we ship what actually matters.
This role is perfect for a builder who thrives in a lean, fast-paced environment and isn’t afraid to call out complexity, prioritize relentlessly, and own outcomes end to end.
What You’ll Do
- Lead a team of engineers focused on outcomes, not just elegant implementations
- Own end-to-end product delivery across frontend, backend, automotive integrations and the game platform
- Represent AirConsole in front of leading Automotive Manufacturers
- Translate company goals into clear, actionable product specs
- Prioritize aggressively and avoid scope creep
- Call out overengineering and push for fast, effective solutions
- Unblock execution and ensure consistent shipping
- Getting your hands dirty in tough coding challenges
- Architect the in-car gaming solution of the future
- Technically sharp – comfortable digging into code and calling out bad trade-offs
- Execution-oriented: You hate spinning wheels and live to ship
- Decisive: You prioritize and push forward, even with imperfect information
- Direct and clear: You’re not afraid to challenge assumptions or say “no”
- Business-aware – understand how engineering drives strategic outcomes
- Comfortable working with autonomy in a scale-up environment
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in a technical leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript, Python and Android.
- Solid architectural understanding of web applications and backend systems.
- Experience with highly scalable cloud systems (Amazon / Google / Azure)
- Experience managing delivery across multiple dev workstreams
- Excellent communicator and ruthless prioritizer
- Strong team player and motivator, bringing everyone on board.
- Based in Zurich
- Fluent in German
- Experience in gaming (Unity et al), automotive (Android-based systems), or cutting edge web technology (WebRTC, WebSockets)
- Startup or scale-up experience
- You are building the in-car entertainment of the future
