We are hiring a System Engineer (M/F) for a renowned Swiss organization based in Zurich.

Tasks

  1. Perform all-round hands-on tasks including escalated support assistance, interacting with internal clients, ensuring data security, maintaining physical and virtual server infrastructure, and ongoing performance tuning on production, pre-production, validation, and integration environments.
  2. Provide 24/7 third-level support on Windows servers, Red Hat servers, and VMware infrastructure in a regulated production environment.

Main characteristics/scope

  1. Support VMware infrastructure in Dübendorf across Production, Pre-production, Validation, and Integration environments.
  2. Support future VMware Enterprise Edge infrastructure in Dübendorf and Geneva on Production and Pre-production environments.
  3. Support Red Hat and Windows servers.
  4. Support storage and backup infrastructure.
  5. Automate recurring tasks and create base images for Red Hat and Windows servers.

Additional Tasks

  1. Understand existing technical environment, systems, processes, and tools.
  2. Assist support activities, interact with internal clients, ensure data security, maintain server and backup infrastructure, and perform ongoing performance tuning.
  3. Troubleshoot, manage incidents (recovery, repair), and monitor systems daily.
  4. Create and update documentation and procedures.

Requirements

Experience with tools

  • Jira, Confluence

Technical skills

  • Extensive experience with infrastructure management and monitoring.
  • Expertise in virtualized infrastructure under VMware.
  • Experience with Red Hat or Windows servers.
  • Extensive knowledge of SAN storage (HPE).
  • Experience with backup infrastructure using Veeam.
  • Datacenter experience with virtual and physical hosts.

Our recruitment process

We have a 4-step recruitment process at Enova:

  1. An initial interview via Teams to get to know each other, assess skills, and introduce Enova.
  2. If shortlisted, a second interview via Teams or face-to-face with the manager and team members.
  3. Follow-up meeting or technical interview with the client’s technical team.
  4. If selected to work together, a final interview to present the contract, preferably at our office.

Throughout the process, communication will be via phone and email, with potential meetings at our office or the client’s site.
