Junior Datacenter Technician

We are seeking a Junior Data Center Technician - Technical IT 1 to join our client’s team. This role supports key activities in the datacenter environment, including cable management, hardware setup, and decommissioning tasks. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced technical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Remove network cables as part of datacenter decommissioning efforts.
• Run, label, and stage power and networking cables.
• Perform DBD (Drive Bay Device) removals (no scanning activities).
• Follow established procedures to prepare, install, diagnose, troubleshoot, replace, and decommission equipment with guidance from Datacenter Technician Leads.
• Prepare, stage, set up, and carry out basic startup and shutdown processes for hardware following written instructions, checklists, and standard procedures.
• Conduct physical audits of datacenter assets.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent certification.
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).

Safety Equipment Requirements

• Feet: Lace-up steel or composite toe boots that cover the ankle, have a slip-resistant sole, and meet ASTM International Standard F2413-05 specifications.
• Eyes: ANSI, CE, or EN approved safety glasses with side shields.
• Hands: Level 5 cut/abrasion/impact-resistant gloves.
• High Visibility Vests: Required at all times in designated areas.
• Head: ANSI, CE, or EN approved hard hat or bump cap.

Additional Information

Full training and guidance will be provided by Datacenter Technician Leads. Candidates must be detail-oriented and able to follow structured procedures precisely.
