Legal Advisor - Derivatives

Our client, a financial company, is looking for a Legal Advisor to support trading, legal, and risk teams with expert legal guidance on derivatives transactions and related documentation. You will be responsible for reviewing, negotiating, and advising on complex derivative contracts in a fast-paced and globally focused environment.

Duties include:

• Support new product development and business initiatives with tailored legal analysis and contract structuring.
• Review, draft, and negotiate derivatives documentation.
• Lead or support legal negotiations with external counterparties and clients.
• Advise on legal, credit, and counterparty risk issues during onboarding and contract negotiation.
• Work closely with the trading desk, compliance, operations, and credit risk teams to ensure alignment between legal terms and business needs.
• Monitor and advise on relevant regulatory changes impacting trading and documentation.
• Maintain strong relationships with counterparties and external counsel where needed.
• Assist with internal policy development and the continuous improvement of legal processes and templates.

The preferred candidate will ideally have experience in derivatives trading, financial regulations and with strong expertise in law. Fluency in English is required. You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrate the ability to deal with negotiation and reviews of contacts in Switzerland.
