Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with European partners to plan and conduct thermal-hydraulics analyses for Small Modular Reactors (SMRs).
  • Develop and validate system thermal-hydraulics models based on experimental data.
  • Perform comparative analyses of different system codes for SMR systems.
  • Identify safety knowledge gaps and recommend solutions, focusing on safety modeling of SMRs.
  • Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals, conferences, and technical reports.

Candidate Profile

  • Master’s degree in nuclear or mechanical engineering, physics, applied mathematics, or related fields; PhD or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of multiphase flow, heat transfer, and thermal-hydraulics simulations, with experience in water-cooled reactors and codes like TRACE, RELAP, or APROS.
  • Broad understanding of nuclear reactor systems and safety analysis.
  • Fluent in English; German skills are advantageous.
