Finance Director – Pharma Manufacturing | PE-backed
CHF 150,000 – CHF 200,000 + bonus
We are supporting a leading European pharmaceutical manufacturer in the search for a high-calibre Finance Director to join their Basel-based leadership team. Backed by a leading PE investor, the business is focused on driving operational excellence, international expansion, and sustained long-term growth, as they are looking to expand this position as key players in the global pharmaceutical market.
This role offers the opportunity to join at a strategic inflection point, as the business accelerates investment across its core operations and explores new commercial opportunities. The Finance Director will serve as a key strategic partner to the CFO and senior executive team, with full responsibility for financial leadership across the Swiss site and wider group finance initiatives.
Ideal for someone with strong leadership experience in manufacturing or life sciences, this role provides exceptional exposure to operational finance and private equity value creation in a high-growth environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Leading financial operations for the Basel site, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance.
- Preparing accurate monthly and annual financial statements in line with Swiss GAAP and group standards.
- Supporting strategic decision-making through insightful financial analysis and business partnering.
- Driving cost optimisation and margin improvement across manufacturing processes.
- Collaborating with site leadership to align financial objectives with operational performance.
- Working closely with group finance and the CFO on investor reporting and strategic planning.
- Contributing to M&A projects, investment cases, and integration initiatives as part of the group’s growth strategy.
- Enhancing financial processes, systems, and internal controls in line with best practices across the wider business.
Key Requirements :
- An accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent) is desirable.
- Strong background in finance leadership within manufacturing, life sciences, or a related sector.
- Experience working in private equity or a highly dynamic, fast-paced environment is advantageous.
- Proven ability to lead teams and collaborate across departments to achieve business goals.
- Skilled in financial planning, analysis, and reporting within a complex operational setting.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Working proficiency in English and German.
