Medtronic is hiring a Senior Engineering Manager responsible for planning, directing, and implementing all aspects of the company's design and development of new medical device products or software systems.
In this role, you will develop, evaluate, implement, and maintain technical quality assurance and control systems or reliability systems and standards related to materials, techniques, or company products.
A Day in the Life
- Plan, direct, and implement all aspects of the company's site engineering activities (safety, manufacturing process performance, maintenance, post-market design changes, sustaining engineering, product configuration, end-item implementation).
- Contribute to a safe work environment, report risks and events (injuries, illnesses, accidents). Understand and enforce all Health and Safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Develop, evaluate, implement, and maintain technical quality assurance and control systems or reliability systems and standards related to materials, techniques, or company products.
- Oversee investigation and evaluation of existing technologies, guide the development engineering organization on new methodologies, materials, machines, processes, or products, and monitor documentation throughout all product lifecycle phases.
- Coordinate activities with outside suppliers and external partners to ensure timely delivery and project execution. Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure efficient operation, driving performance and engagement. Promote continuous improvement in Engineering through Medtronic Performance System (MPS) methodologies.
- Improve KPIs such as Yields, Quality, OEE, Savings, and manufacturing availability (OEE, uptime, productivity). Control and enhance process and product performance (RTY, scrap reduction), reduce costs, and meet project deadlines.
- Ensure production means and maintenance activities are available and performed (maintenance, calibration). Champion quality and Maintenance Excellence programs.
- Manage non-conformities in Engineering scope, lead product quality investigations, and collaborate with internal suppliers of production equipment and testing sequences in the US.
Must Haves
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 7 years of relevant experience with 5+ years in managerial roles
- Fluency in French and English
- Experience in design control and process control within a regulated environment
- Experience in performance delivery and quality assurance in manufacturing
- Excellent organizational, communication, and managerial skills
Nice to Haves
- Strong written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience interacting with stakeholders across time zones (e.g., US)
- Fluency in another European language
