We are seeking a talented Software Engineer III to join our YouTube team at Google. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in full-stack development and experience working with large-scale systems.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms
  • 2 years of experience with full-stack development, including back-end (Java, Python, Golang, C++) and front-end (JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS)

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with YouTube tech stack (e.g., InnerTube, EML, Polymer)
  • Experience with project scoping, defining, and tracking with reasonable estimates and timelines
  • Excellent cross-team and cross-functional collaboration skills

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the team to define, build, and test features across products.
  • Work with Content ID and YouTube teams to develop features in YouTube Studio.
  • Implement features using TypeScript, Polymer/CoW, Elements (EML), and C++.
  • Design and launch features to support the Creator ecosystem, content rights protection, and regulatory compliance.
  • Contribute to responsible AI ecosystems.
