On behalf of a leading Swiss Media outlet, we are searching for an experienced Backend Developer. Joining a team focused on user experience, you will join a key project which will centralize metadata to optimize user driven content curation, as well as building innovative and industry leading user accessibility options.

This is a contract assignment, initially for the next 12 months, based in either Zürich or Geneva. The role is hybrid, with 1-2 days on site per week.

What You’ll Bring

  • Solid experience in backend development from design to deployment
  • Proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin
  • Experience with AWS and scalable cloud-based services
  • Ability to write clear technical documentation (analyses, tickets, ADRs)
  • Comfortable in Agile environments (Scrum participation expected)
  • Strong communicator with an open, growth-oriented mindset
  • Willing to share knowledge and contribute to a transparent feedback culture
  • Hybrid model with 1–2 days/week on-site
  • Based in Zurich or Geneva with occasional travel within Switzerland (1–2 times per month)
  • Flexible hours – Full-time = 40 hours/week (8 hours/day)
  • Fluency in English and German and / or French is required, relative to location
