We are currently supporting an Asset Manager in their search for a Legal Counsel with deep expertise in fund structuring and regulatory law. This role focuses heavily on collective investment schemes, offering an exciting opportunity to work on the buy-side and shape the legal foundations of fund initiatives within a highly strategic investment environment.

You will act as the legal lead on all fund-related topics, from initial structuring and regulatory analysis to ongoing oversight and negotiations with fund counterparties. Working cross-functionally, you’ll support internal investment teams and help steer compliant and commercially sound fund initiatives aligned with long-term group objectives.

The successful candidate will support the legal and structuring aspects of the company’s investments in collective investment vehicles, and work closely with internal investment teams, external asset managers, and regulatory authorities.

Responsibilities:

• Structure, review, and provide legal guidance on a wide range of collective investment schemes, with a focus on Swiss and European fund vehicles.
• Oversee the legal design and documentation of fund structures, including regulatory filings, fund prospectuses, limited partnership agreements, and related fund documentation.
• Ensure alignment with FINMA regulatory frameworks and other jurisdictional requirements applicable to fund products and the insurance industry.
• Support the setup of new fund platforms and onboarding of new investments into existing vehicles.
• Lead or support negotiations with management companies, custodians, fund administrators, and other external fund stakeholders.
• Act as a liaison between legal, compliance, tax, investment, and external counsel to ensure efficient and compliant implementation of fund investments.

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience with a strong focus on fund structuring and investment law.
• In-depth understanding of collective investment funds, financial product regulations, and buy-side fund operations.
• Solid knowledge of FINMA regulations and relevant EU directives
• Proven experience in setting up and managing fund structures, including reviewing fund documentation and regulatory filings.
• Fluent in English; German or French is advantageous.
• Resident of Switzerland or Liechtenstein
