This role involves leading the development of technology, platforms, and portfolios for ABB Robotics' functional modules and application cells within the Industries segment. You will ensure the availability of scalable global platforms based on innovative and competitive technical solutions. Your responsibilities include translating customer needs into product requirements, defining technology and architectural roadmaps, and governing global platforms throughout their lifecycle—approving architectural and technical solutions.

You will focus on increasing technology readiness levels, optimizing system design during development phases, and developing robust processes to support innovation and scalability. End-to-end responsibility for engineering change management, compliance with relevant standards, and fostering state-of-the-art technologies and modern methodologies are key aspects of this role. Your innovative mindset will help position technology as a driver of future business opportunities in robotics.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and lead the innovation and technology roadmap aligned with business strategy.
• Oversee global technology development, including project portfolios and R&D requests.
• Establish design standards and technical criteria for scalable product development.
• Drive standardization and industrialization to enhance product platforms and reduce complexity.
• Lead and develop a global team of approximately 30 engineers, providing architectural guidance and fostering collaboration across regions.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or related field, with 10+ years in product development and technology management.
• 5+ years in international roles, with experience in a global, cross-cultural environment.
• Deep expertise in robotics and AI, understanding the full robot lifecycle and product platform principles.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing complex organizations.
