Reporting primarily to the Governance Manager, Board Relations, with a secondary reporting line to the Senior Resource Mobilization Manager for Resource Mobilization (RM) related functions, the incumbent is expected to perform duties including but not limited to the following :

  • Work with the Board Relations Team, in facilitating efficient functioning of Unitaid's governance structures.
  • Contribute to reviewing processes and tools in support of the work of the Board Relations Team.
  • Under the guidance of the Governance Manager, Board Relations prepare and manage calls for proposals and proposal review processes.
  • Provide coordinated responses to proponents at all review stages on technical and procedural questions pertaining to the calls for proposals.
  • Provide analytical support to the Governance Manager, Board Relations concerning Unitaid's participation in the work of the Partners Constituency on the Global Fund Board.
  • Upon delegation, represent Unitaid at events, stakeholder working groups, and selected initiatives, as required by ERC Unit.
  • Co-ordinate the organisational wide donor engagement of one resource contributing Board Member.
  • Coordinate the work of the innovative financing workstream.
  • Facilitate the promotion of cooperation agreement strategies and operational alliances with donors and the private sector.
  • Negotiate contributions, striving for timeliness, predictability and maximum flexibility.
  • Draft internal and external correspondence, including briefing notes for senior management to support them in negotiation and follow up of contributions with donors.
  • Identify and access new donors and funding sources, particularly private sector.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • A first level university degree in business, social sciences, public relations, international relations or related fields.
  • Training in a field relevant to global health and development

Experience

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in the field of health and international relations with some exposure to governance relations.
  • Experience in organization of high-level meetings.
  • Experience in management of logistic needs for the conduct of international meetings (site, venue, travel, translation, interpretation, etc.).
  • Experience in HIV and coinfections, TB, malaria, women and children's health, global health emergencies.
  • Experience working in an international cross-cultural environment.
  • Experience attending or supporting the work of Boards and / or other Governance structures of public health or international development organizations.
