At Bavarian Nordic Berna, the Swiss affiliate, professionals work in manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Supply Chain, and Regulatory Affairs. The Swiss site in Thörishaus / Bern employs over 240 dedicated professionals working locally and globally.

For the Finance Department, we are seeking a motivated Plant Controller 100% (f/m/d) to oversee controlling and planning of the Bern affiliate's costs, including OPEX, Cost of Goods Sold, and Capex.

The main responsibilities include:

  • Review actual production versus planned, perform month-end closing transactions in SAP for cost allocation and fixed assets capitalization/depreciation, identify variances, and generate reports with insights against factory KPIs.
  • Follow up on changes and post journal entries for expired and obsolete materials, including comparison against budget.
  • Manage inventory reporting, including adjustments and provisions.
  • Analyze inventory lead times and verify against production plans.
  • Support new launches: create COGS in SAP and update as per GMP processes.
  • Review, report, and follow up on monthly budget variances, prepare comments, and support the next budget cycle. Monitor purchase orders and invoices.
  • Review bill of materials/recipes as per GMP, and track updates in SAP/Veeva/excel models.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 3-5 years of finance experience with proven results.
  • Strong overview with attention to relevant details.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a track record of producing reputable reports.
  • Ability to handle high work volumes with quality within tight deadlines.
  • Strong IT skills, including Excel, SAP Finance and Controlling, BI tools, etc.
  • Interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset; ability to build and influence relationships.
  • Analytical, innovative, and results-driven; capable of handling complex issues.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and systematic in work approach; able to prioritize and maintain focus.
