SCI Microbiology Laboratory Technician - German

Join our team as an SCI Microbiology Laboratory Technician - German at RM Group (Switzerland). This contract role is based in Stein within the Agricultural and Chemical sector.

Your tasks:

  • Safe handling and precise measurement of chemicals, biological inoculum, and seeds.
  • Preparation of growth media and plates.
  • Seed treatments on a laboratory scale.
  • Safe disposal of biological waste following local protocols and autoclaving.
  • Preparation and maintenance of experiments with seeds and seedlings, including media preparation, planting, and watering.
  • Capturing high-quality photographs, including time-lapse sequences, of experiments.
  • Monitoring experiments and recording data.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness in the microbiology laboratory.
  • Following all safety procedures in the Seedcare Institute building and Stein research facility.

Your experience/knowledge:

  • Practical training or work experience in a scientific laboratory setting.
  • Track record of working safely and accurately in a laboratory.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and quick adaptability to new IT tools.
  • Good team player with results-oriented attitude.
  • Experience with chemicals, biological materials, germination seeds, and plants is advantageous.
  • Fluent in spoken and written German; ability to communicate in English (B1 level or equivalent).
  • Additional languages such as French are a plus.

  • Strong self-organization and time management skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
