Our client is a leading asset management firm overseeing a substantial portfolio, allocation to private assets. The firm's dedicated investment team collaborates to develop and manage private asset solutions for institutional clients in Switzerland.

We are seeking a highly motivated Director of Private Debt who will contribute to the expansion and evolution of their growing Private Markets asset class. We are looking for a knowledge leader that has a focus on Corporate Direct Lending - a growing strategy that has attracted interest from both internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will help shape this strategy and actively engage with clients.

Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for the Manager Selection of Private Debt Managers in Europe.
  2. Serve as a decision-maker for the Corporate Direct Lending strategy, working with the team to implement and enhance the approach.
  3. Prepare reports and presentations on market trends and portfolio performance.
  4. Conduct financial and operational due diligence and monitor private equity funds as part of the broader investment strategy.
  5. Analyze market trends related to the private debt asset class and follow their portfolio developments.
  6. Collaborate with sales colleagues to meet with clients and prospects, presenting investment strategies, portfolio updates, and market insights.
  7. Co-develop and structure the operating model for private assets, Corporate Direct Lending, and other new products.
  8. Utilize data science expertise to develop monitoring and analysis tools for portfolio oversight and market trend evaluation.
  9. Support investment oversight of Senior Secured Loan and Infrastructure Debt Funds, participating in client meetings as needed.

Qualifications:

  1. 10 years of experience in Asset Management, with a minimum of 4 years particularly in Alternative Credit and private asset fund due diligence.
  2. University or applied sciences degree, with relevant certifications (CIIA, CFA).
  3. Experience with the Manager Selection process of Private Debt Funds.
  4. Ability to identify investment trends and align them with market opportunities related to the private debt asset class.
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an entrepreneurial mindset and a client-centric approach.
  6. Good understanding of the regulatory landscape (insurance, AIFMD).
  7. Expertise in Alternative Investment Funds and data science applications for portfolio monitoring, asset allocation, fund selection, investment analysis, or as a Product Specialist.
  8. Experience in structuring private asset investment solutions, contract negotiations, and engaging with Swiss institutional clients.
  9. Fluency in German and English, with strong communication and presentation skills.
