BACKGROUND ON IMPACT AND REACH

IMPACT Initiatives is a humanitarian NGO based in Geneva, Switzerland, managing several initiatives including the REACH Initiative. The IMPACT team specializes in data collection, management, analysis, GIS, and remote sensing. Launched through a partnership with ACTED, an international NGO with a presence in thirty countries, IMPACT benefits from ACTED’s operational support.

We are currently seeking a Data Officer to support our team in Myanmar.

Position: Data Officer

Contract duration: 6 months

COUNTRY PROFILE

Myanmar faces a complex humanitarian crisis characterized by armed conflict, inter-communal tensions, and natural hazards. The military takeover in February 2021 worsened vulnerabilities, with an estimated 19.9 million people in need and over 3.5 million internally displaced persons. The March 2025 earthquake further increased needs and displacement.

The REACH team, based in Yangon and Bangkok, has supported Myanmar’s humanitarian response since 2022 through assessments like MSNAs, JMMI, AoC, and others, continually exploring innovative ways to inform response efforts.
