UNEP Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) – Risk Consultant

The Senior Advisor will contribute to the following key areas:

1. Provide support to financial institutions on Client Transition Plan Assessments and Use.
2. Develop support for banks on risk management as part of PRB implementation.
3. Create project proposals for research on environment-related risk management in banking and insurance, in consultation with key stakeholders, and coordinate implementation with industry and thematic teams.
4. Support capacity building on risk-related topics for UNEP FI members.
5. Assist with legal risk issues related to greenwashing, including convening stakeholders and holding information sessions.
6. Establish partnerships to research E&S/Sustainability Risk data, tools, modeling, and AI, and raise awareness among members.
7. Support the development of Risk Centre/PRB guidance, capacity-building initiatives, and supporting materials.
8. Assist members in preparing for sustainable finance regulatory measures in coordination with the policy team.
9. Ensure the Risk Centre programme aligns with the PRB, PSI, and addresses climate, nature, pollution, and social risks, including work plan adjustments and contributions to planning activities.
10. Keep abreast of emerging priorities in environmental and social risk, integrating these topics into current and future sessions or working groups.
11. Identify potential risk-related partnerships or outputs beneficial to UNEP FI and its members.
12. Promote UNEP FI Risk outputs and offerings through online platforms and in-person events.
13. Contribute to the communication strategy and materials to effectively communicate risk offerings to financial risk teams.
