(Senior) Scientist – Gas Circuit Breaker Research - 80-100% (f / m / d)

We are looking for a senior research scientist with experience in gas circuit breakers or high-voltage technology to strengthen our team at our research center in Baden / CH.

Your Responsibilities

1. Define, plan, lead, and contribute to multidisciplinary industrial research projects on gas circuit breakers, high-voltage engineering, and electrical power devices.
2. Create and research new concepts for high-voltage AC and DC gas circuit breakers and gaseous insulation.
3. Contribute to shaping the long-term R&D strategy of gas circuit breakers and high-voltage switchgear.
4. Collaborate with Hitachi Energy business units, research centers, universities, and external partners.
5. Build your network within the company and actively share your knowledge and expertise.
6. Disseminate your results through technical reports, patent applications, and scientific publications.

Your Requirements

1. At least 3 years of industry or postdoctoral experience in the area of circuit breakers or high-voltage technology.
2. Project management and leadership experience, either in people or technical roles.
3. PhD in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, applied physics, or equivalent experience.
4. Proven track record in science or industry.
5. Excellent leadership, communication skills, team-oriented attitude, initiative, and creativity.
6. Background related to cold/thermal plasma physics and applications, experimental fluid dynamics, or combustion physics is an advantage.
7. Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
