Director Clinical Operations Development Lead - Rare Disease

Location: Remote in Switzerland or Belgium; relocation can be provided

Occasional travel to HQ may be required

About the Company

We are working with a European biotech organization developing novel therapeutics for rare diseases. They have achieved FDA success with some programs, now expanding into further markets worldwide. The portfolio includes preclinical to approved products, with multiple new indications in development. Due to pipeline expansion, multiple clinical roles are being recruited.

About the Role

This position offers an exciting opportunity to join as a Clinical Operations Development Lead. Reporting at the franchise level, you will oversee full end-to-end responsibilities for an indication, often from FIH to orphan designation and launch. You will operate at a senior strategic level, designing and revising clinical trials, evaluating concurrent trial opportunities, and supporting the full development plan. The role combines strategic and operational work, requiring problem-solving for delays or recruitment issues. You will also lead a small team of Clinical Trial Managers & Leads collaborating with CROs.

We seek candidates with the following experience:

• Strategic Clinical Operations experience, including designing and revising clinical trials across development phases
• Proven leadership managing Clinical Trial Managers/Leads
• Experience in an outsourced model, collaborating with CROs
• Rare Disease or Orphan Drug experience (beneficial but not essential)
• Willingness to work operationally and hands-on when needed
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding biotech environment and adapt to strategic changes
