We're currently on the lookout for an experienced People Lead for one of our service delivery teams, which plans, builds, and runs critical Linux-based IT infrastructure for customers from all industries. We are fans of automation and help our customers modernize their infrastructure. We use Ansible to deploy and maintain our technology stack, which consists of IDM, Databases, Web & Application Servers, Systems Management, Virtualization, Collaboration and Groupware solutions, and more.

Tasks

As a People Lead, you are responsible for guiding a remote-first customer service delivery team at Adfinis towards excellence, thereby contributing to the sustainable competitiveness, growth, and success of Adfinis.

Serving as an inspiring leader, you empower and motivate team members, encourage collaboration, and help each team member to develop and leverage their full potential. As an efficient manager, you ensure each team member has the necessary resources and capabilities to successfully fulfill their assignments and responsibilities.

You'll regularly interact with various stakeholders such as other service delivery teams in Switzerland and abroad, executive management, sales, and customers, and need to skillfully balance their various interests.

Your leadership tasks and duties will include:

  • Leading a remote-first team of 9-17 employees from Apprentice to Expert Level
  • Coaching, mentoring, and motivating your team members for peak engagement
  • Planning training paths and structured role development
  • Running regular one‑on‑one meetings and appraisals
  • Deciding salaries, promotions, and career level progression
  • Conducting recruiting interviews, making hiring decisions, and onboarding newcomers
  • Ensuring a bidirectional flow of information with executive management

Your management tasks and duties will include:

  • Overseeing service delivery and quality
  • Managing budgets, billability KPIs, and expense approvals
  • Forecasting resources, assigning projects, and confirming schedules
  • Leading meetings and coordinating cross‑team acitvities
  • Handling maintenance, SLA compliance, and customer complaints
  • Driving strategic improvements to processes and organization

Requirements

Must-Have

  • You have a proven track record of leading a team of system engineers in an IT services company.
  • Decision-Making: You weigh facts and viewpoints, decide swiftly, and own the results.
  • Empathy: You have emotional awareness, act with compassion, and respect others.
  • Relationship Management: You build trust, expand your networks, and defuse conflict.
  • Team Building: You shape a shared identity, set fair norms, and keep dynamics healthy.
  • Task Management: You delegate clearly, track progress, and streamline work.
  • Risk Management: You spot, reduce, and communicate risks early.
  • Goal Setting: You set ambitious, aligned targets, and monitor and adjust progress.
  • Resource Management: You plan, allocate, monitor, and rebalance resources.

Nice-to-Have

  • You have leadership experience from both SME and enterprise environments.
  • You have a strong affinity for Open-Source solutions and philosophy.
  • You have a background in computer science and/or system engineering.
