What you do
You work in the power trading department and model, back-test and simulate the value potential of our existing and future portfolio (i.a. batteries and renewable energies) in different energy markets and flexibility services.
Develop, improve and implement our simulation and backtesting tools to quantitatively assess revenue potential of flexibility in different markets to enable pricing.
Build and improve forecasts (e.g. price) or signals that can be used in trading to improve trading performance.
Test and validate new strategies and derive recommendations for senior management.
Support Sales and Risk Management departments to enable data-driven decision-making and customer acquisition.
Collaborate closely with Trading and Product management, building the bridge to develop cutting-edge products and services for our clients by developing new functionalities or integration of new use cases.
Management and optimization of portfolio positions, asset constraints considering market conditions and corporate objectives.
Close collaboration with the Risk Management and Market Analytics teams to enhance trading decisions.
Who you are
You have a degree in energy economics, business administration, finance, or a related field. Candidates with different trading backgrounds or candidates with data science experience in energy or financial markets but no economics degree are also welcome.
You have several years of experience in energy market and/or risk modelling, asset optimization or similar and a proven track record of successfully applying optimization and data science methods (e.g. machine learning).
Knowledge of energy trading markets, market mechanisms and regulatory requirements is a plus.
You have experience in solving real-world problems with data science methods, mathematical optimization, or scientific computing, delivering value in production.
You bring proficiency in software development and software practices (e.g. testing, code quality, monitoring), with strong expertise in Python.
Ideally, you have experience working with databases, REST-APIs and cloud-native infrastructure (e.g. AWS).
You are a team player with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, results-oriented environment.
You are fluent in English - written and spoken – the ability to speak and read German is a big plus.
