Your Tasks

  • BakerHicks is a leading consultancy in the power transmission and distribution sector in the UK, expanding its power team in the DACH region. We are seeking ambitious High-voltage Cable Engineers to support this growth.
  • You will be an experienced engineer in the design and planning of high voltage cable systems from 11kV to 400kV, either onshore or offshore.
  • Your responsibilities include producing cable system design calculations, cable rating calculations, thermomechanical and electromagnetic force calculations, and working with CAD technicians on cable route layouts and trench cross sections.
  • You must have full proficiency in German and a good level of English.

Your Profile

  • Experience in design, calculations, reports, and drawings for HV power transmission systems, HVDC interconnectors, or HV renewable energy infrastructure in the DACH region.
  • Full working proficiency in German and a good level of English.
  • Specialist knowledge in High Voltage Substations.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to BakerHicks offices in Basel and London.

Traveling activity

Projects typically last between 6 and 24 months. Work locations are mainly at the customer's site, with some opportunities for remote work in consultation with project management. Employees have the chance to work with different clients and technologies, explore new cities, and return home on weekends.
