As the Engineering Manager of the Auterion Cloud Team, you will be responsible for leading a team of full stack engineers in building the central hub for fleet management, drone integration, QA testing, field deployment, and continued support. Auterion’s cloud platform additionally handles all software updates and tracks every drone for predictive maintenance.

Through your leadership the Auterion cloud team will collaborate with other internal teams and key customers on OKRs that span across the organization. You will lead the technical development of Auterion’s cloud platform while staying in close touch with internal stakeholders and product managers.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Lead, inspire and advocate for a team of high performing engineers
  • Manage all the stages of large cloud-based engineering projects from concept to design through implementation and release. This includes people allocation, project management and documentation
  • Partner with leaders across the organization to develop processes and strategies for producing new features and products that delight our customers
  • Work closely with cross functional teams to understand business requirements and product architecture across multiple disciplines of software, hardware, robotics, and flight control technologies
  • Deliver the highest quality software through manual and automated testing
  • Hire, mentor, and retain top engineering talent
  • Coach team members on software development skills, leadership responsibilities and help guide their professional development to grow their careers

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 7+ years of experience in software development with 3+ years of leading teams
  • Track record of shipping reliable, extensible and maintainable software at scale in a rapidly evolving environment
  • Expertise with public cloud services and infrastructure
  • Strong experience building microservices and RESTful web services
  • Fluency in SQL and NoSQL datastores and data access patterns and strategies
  • Knowledge of secure, scalable, and highly available service development practices
  • Ambitious and not afraid to tackle unknowns, demonstrates a strong bias to action
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively
  • Ability to coordinate with remote teams and stakeholders in different timezones

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of C++ and Rust programming languages
  • Understanding of SOC2 and other data compliance standards
  • Familiarity with Government cloud programs as well as regulatory and compliance requirements of U.S. customers that run sensitive workloads in the cloud
