Freelance / temporary employment for a project in Valais. Start date: asap. Reference number: 825428 / 1

Responsibilities

  • Design and simulate mixed-signal circuits (analog / digital, HV / LV, temperature, current sensing).
  • Integrate input protections, EMI / ESD filters, and power supply blocks (DC / DC converters).
  • Include digital communication protocols (CAN, RS485, RS232) and microcontrollers (MCU-based systems).
  • Develop complete schematics and layouts using Altium Designer or equivalent ECAD tools.
  • Produce detailed Design Descriptions, calculations (FMEA; MTBF), and analysis reports (ASR).
  • Maintain traceability and version control of all engineering data per DO-254 guidelines.
  • Author and execute Qualification Test Plans (QTP) and Verification Test Procedures (VTP).
  • Perform debugging, de-risking, and integration of PCBs at the module and system level.
  • Support the development of test benches and define Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP).
  • Conduct environmental and functional testing in accordance with RTCA / DO-160.

Profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, CFC, or technical apprenticeship in electronics (strong asset).
  • Experience in safety-critical hardware development (aerospace, automotive, industrial, medical sectors) / Expertise in mixed analog / digital circuit design and simulation (SPICE-based tools such as Simetrix), Power electronics (DC / DC converters), circuit protection and filtering.
  • High-speed digital interfaces and communication protocols (CAN, RS485, etc.) / Schematic capture and PCB layout (Altium Designer or similar tools).
  • Familiarity with EMI / EMC principles and PCB layout best practices / IPC standards for PCB design and manufacturability.
  • Considerations for thermal and mechanical aspects in hardware enclosures (asset).
  • Aerospace standards such as DO-254, CS-23, EASA / FAA certification frameworks, and DO-160 environmental and qualification testing.
  • Tools: Altium, MATLAB, Simetrix, version control / configuration tools. Fast learner with a rigorous, structured, and detail-oriented mindset.
  • Strong documentation discipline and ability to work in a certification-driven environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of working independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Fluent in English (oral and written); French is a strong asset.
