As the premier supplier to our international banking client in Basel, Swisslinx is looking for an adaptable and flexible Full Stack Azure Solutions Engineer with strong programming skills in Java to join an international team responsible for encouraging innovation and adoption of next-generation technology in Central Banks on an 80-100% basis.
The role is a 12-month rolling contract with an option to extend long-term based on project roadmaps, with a flexible start date.
Reporting to the Head of Department as part of a global setup, the Azure Solutions Engineer will work closely with innovation project teams, supporting the solution design and implementation of projects in the Azure cloud, as well as designing and implementing a flexible foundational Azure cloud infrastructure for the department’s experimental work.
The team is small, dynamic, multidisciplinary, and multicultural, based in Basel. This is an excellent opportunity to join an innovative environment with exposure to international projects and a broad technological landscape involving cloud, blockchain, ML/AI, and open-source technologies.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing design and implementation support to innovation projects using Azure Cloud services, including:
- Solution/Software Engineering: Supporting the design and implementation of projects with cutting-edge technologies.
- Cloud Engineering: Designing and implementing cloud infrastructure for innovation projects, including building a flexible Azure cloud-based sandbox environment to enable rapid iteration and pivoting by the Innovation Hub teams.
- DevOps: Adopting automation practices (DevOps/GitOps) to support agile, iterative development within innovation projects.
Requirements
You should possess as many of the following skills as possible:
- Extensive experience in one or multiple programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Kotlin, Scala) and solution design.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Cloud, including Azure AD, Azure Resource Management, Azure Subscriptions, Azure IaaS and PaaS services, and security hardening of Azure environments.
- Experience with open-source stack languages.
- Experience with backend frameworks such as Spring Boot, Node/Express/Koa, etc.
- Nice to have:
- Proficiency with Azure DevOps services for code and deployment management.
- Experience with Single-Page Application frontend frameworks like React.
- Experience with Git.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies (Scrum).
- Knowledge of next-generation technologies such as Blockchain and AI.
