We are looking for an experienced and motivated Lead Software Architect. In this role, you will be responsible for the overall design and technical success of software projects from initial concept to delivery, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical requirements. This includes defining system architecture, guiding development teams on implementation, and making key decisions on tools, frameworks, and technologies. You will also play a crucial role in ensuring scalability, security, and performance, while collaborating with stakeholders, steering the project’s technical direction, and ensuring overall client satisfaction and project success.

How you’ll make an impact

  • You will be responsible for developing complex IT architectures in innovative software solutions and providing strategic-technological advice to our customers.
  • You will manage teams from a technical perspective from kick-off to roll-out and stay in close contact with the project management team.
  • With your leadership skills, you will inspire and mobilize your project team and our customers for ideas.
  • By coaching your team members in Software Engineering and Architecture and applying agile principles, you will contribute to the success of various projects.
  • You will further develop our Zühlke network of experts and work on group-wide initiatives for continuous improvement of software development.

What’s important to us

  • You have a degree (FH, Uni, ETH or similar) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • You have at least five years of experience as a Software Engineer and/or Architect.
  • You have knowledge in developing highly available and secure cloud solutions and expertise in software architectures and documentation (especially microservices, domain-driven design, UML, Arc42).
  • You are highly experienced in Backend technologies (e.g., Java, Spring Boot, SQL/NoSQL, Apache Kafka) and ideally in Frontend (e.g., Angular, React).
  • You possess knowledge of DevOps/GitOps, including CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, monitoring, and security (OAuth2, OIDC, authentication, and authorization).
  • You demonstrate strong leadership qualities, coaching and mentoring skills, a growth mindset, and a willingness to learn continuously.
  • You are an excellent communicator and fluent in German and English (at least C1 level).

What we offer

  • Work-life blend: We offer a safe & healthy workplace, with flexible working hours and the possibility to work from home.
  • Profit share scheme: In addition to your salary, you may receive a profit share based on the company’s success.
  • Global and diverse Zühlke community: Experience how colleagues from 17 offices worldwide come together to create an inclusive work culture, learn from each other, and celebrate together.
