On-Call Requirements: Occasional weekend or public holiday work may be required

About The Role

An international financial institution in Basel is seeking a Business Objects Consultant to join its Information Technology and Services department. This is a replacement position within a long-standing Business Objects (BO) environment, used for over 20 years to support reporting needs across all business areas.

The consultant will be responsible for maintaining and developing the existing Business Objects environment, supporting over 1,200 reports. The role involves close interaction with both technical and non-technical users to answer questions, analyze reporting requirements, and deliver tailored BO solutions using version 4.3.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive Business Objects development and support
• Create and modify reports and universes based on user requirements
• Assist business users, ranging from beginners to advanced report developers
• Work independently while coordinating with related data and reporting teams
• Participate in upgrades, testing, and system changes (some outside normal hours)
  
  

Your Profile

Must-Have Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of experience with Business Objects
• In-depth knowledge of Business Objects version 4.3
• Expertise in report and universe creation/modification
• Proven experience supporting non-technical users
• Advanced SQL skills
  
  

Interpersonal Skills

• Strong communication skills and proactive approach
• Comfortable discussing needs with users at all technical levels
• Team player with a collaborative mindset
• Fluent in written and spoken English
  
  

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Familiarity with Business Objects BI2025
• Experience with Infoburst
• Experience with 360suite
