Job Description:

  • Your responsibilities:
  • Conduct detailed underwriting analysis of Energy accounts, reviewing risk engineering exposures, terms and conditions, pricing, and capacity deployment.
  • Determine exposures, normal loss expectancies, and maximum possible loss scenarios.
  • Evaluate and control accumulations, including Natural Catastrophe Exposures.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with brokers and clients, focusing on long-term sustainability and profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with Helvetia Group directives.
  • Develop extensive knowledge of the Energy client and broker network.
  • Attend national and international client and broker meetings, site inspections, and industry events as appropriate.
  • Contribute to a motivated, agile, and determined team.
  • Collaborate with the claims department for large and complex claims.
  • Qualifications:
  • University degree, preferably in engineering, science-related, or business-related discipline; a commercial qualification (e.g., MBA) is beneficial.
  • Professional experience in Energy underwriting or the Energy industry.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and sales skills.
  • Good business acumen and understanding of the Energy insurance markets.
  • Passion for tackling challenges and high performance standards.
  • Ability to develop partnerships across departments and work towards common goals.
  • Positive, flexible, and team-oriented attitude.
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of German is highly preferred.
