Retrofit Automation Engineer (Freelance)

We are looking for an Automation Engineer specialising in retrofit, machine integration, and PLC programming for complex machinery like glass processing and similar.This project offers very high flexibility in terms of working days, working hours and also workload. So this could be ideal as a side project or similar, working next to existing projects and clients.

Responsibilities:

• Execution of retrofit projects for existing machines
• Modification and expansion of PLC programs (manufacturer flexible, e.g., Siemens, Pilz)
• Implementation of safety controllers (e.g., Pilz)
• Integration of machines into existing systems
• Creation and updating of circuit diagrams and parts lists
• Work with pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical components
• Close collaboration with mechanical engineers to define requirements
• Support in optimisingthe machine park

Requirements:

• Experience in retrofit projects
• Solid knowledge of PLC programming
• Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and safety controllers preferred
• Hands-on mentality and enthusiasm for working with older machines
• Technical understanding of mechanics and handling systems
