We are searching for the best talent for our Senior Manager, Advanced Therapies Procurement position! This role will oversee global External Manufacturers, Critical Direct Materials, and Service suppliers that bring unique capabilities to the Innovative Medicines advanced therapies platform. The category and spending are highly sophisticated, requiring close collaboration within the business. Many innovative suppliers are in early growth phases and need a supplier development mindset to support scaling. This individual will develop and execute procurement strategies, manage key relationships globally or regionally, and support end-to-end category strategy development and deployment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead or support sourcing initiatives to identify suitable supplier partners and build capacity to support business needs.
  2. Influence business decision-making to deliver value improvements and competitive advantages.
  3. Lead RFPs using e-sourcing systems to accelerate decision-making and market entry.
  4. Develop and support category sourcing strategies based on business needs, market intelligence, and supplier evaluations.
  5. Engage proactively with business partners and category managers to align strategies with needs.
  6. Develop and lead supplier partnerships to enhance performance, mitigate risks, and foster innovation.
  7. Manage business risks through understanding of legal, regulatory, and commercial requirements, utilizing efficient contracting channels.
  8. Participate as a procurement expert in projects related to contracting, supply reliability, and new product development.
  9. Represent procurement in supply chain initiatives, digital adoption, and resiliency efforts.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in business, life sciences, or related fields.
  • MBA preferred.

Experience and Skills

  • At least 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven skills in Strategic Procurement, Sourcing, Category, and Supplier Management.
  • Experience influencing without direct authority.
  • Flexibility to adapt to external changes.
  • Preferred: experience in supply chain initiatives, digital tools, and global procurement.
  • Strong business and financial acumen.
  • Proficiency in core procurement skills.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams.

Other

  • Certifications like CPSM, CSCP, CPIM, PMP are preferred.
  • Up to 10% travel required.
  • Must be able to work on-site at least three days per week, with options for remote work.
