What you'll be doing here
You will coordinate and facilitate the successful completion of the Critical Conservation research project and collaborate effectively with team members to ensure the successful delivery of all its components
Conduct field research on one of the project's sub-themes, evaluate the results, and translate them into research outputs
Research, write, and publish academic articles in peer-reviewed formats, maintain the project website and deliver other agreed-upon outputs
Contribute to the organization and facilitation of internal and public meetings, as well as other forms of project communication and dissemination targeting academic and professional audiences
Interviews will take place in person on September 23 and 29 in Bern. A detailed description of the role is accessible here
What you'll bring with you
A relevant PhD or equivalent in heritage studies, heritage conservation, or a related field, along with a keen interest in the project's research questions
Proven proficiency in independent research, ideally within conservation and critical heritage studies at the intersection of the human sciences
Experience in inter- and transdisciplinary project work, coupled with a high degree of independence
Active engagement in current debates, critical reflection on existing sources, and strong skills in interdisciplinary collaboration and teamwork.
A strong publication record at the postdoctoral level, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and a strong work ethic; excellent command of academic and spoken English, and proficiency in one of the Swiss national languages, preferably German
To start with, here are some of our strong points
Practised and accessible transdisciplinarity paired with a unique blend of research and teaching.
International teaching staff that combines tradition with innovation and excellence with experiment and thus gives students individual guidance towards their own careers.
Focus on research that is geared towards practical orientation and the education of committed people rather than mere profit maximisation.
An operating culture that fosters diversity, artistic openness and the transitions between disciplines, attitudes and traditions.
I'll be your guide through the application procedure
