Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Head of Publication Operations, Global Medical Affairs, based in Raritan, NJ, or Basel, Switzerland. This role may be posted under different requisition numbers across multiple countries to comply with local requirements.

The Head, Publications Operations, leads the publication team and serves as the subject matter expert for SOPs, GDLs, and compliance, driving publication excellence. The role involves strategic support, team management, budget oversight, SOP development, industry standards adherence, and representing the company at external forums.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Partnering with therapeutic areas to support publication needs.
  2. Managing publication team activities, projects, and priorities.
  3. Overseeing publication operations budget, vendor management, and forecasting.
  4. Owning and developing SOPs and Guidelines for publications.
  5. Serving as a subject matter expert on publication standards and SOPs.
  6. Promoting compliance and publication excellence within the company.
  7. Participating in industry best practices and emerging trends, including AI use.
  8. Representing the company at external publication forums.
  9. Coaching, mentoring, and managing internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years of relevant pharmaceutical/scientific experience.
  • PhD, PharmD, or Master’s degree with at least 8 years of relevant experience (preferred).
  • Leadership experience in people management and budgets.
  • Deep knowledge of industry standards (ICMJE, ISMPP, GPP).
  • Excellent communication and data interpretation skills.
  • Project management experience.
  • Knowledge across therapeutic areas such as oncology, neuroscience, or immunology (preferred).
