The Opportunity

Primarily for our locations in Switzerland, within our Global Procurement - Engineering department in the Material, Manufacturing & CAPEX (MMC) Delivery chapter, you will support our (Project) Procurement Manager and the Engineering department in the procurement of production facilities and equipment. You will work independently and be in close contact with our global and regional Procurement and Customer Excellence/Business Partner Managers, local and regional suppliers, and local project teams.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Support our global category managers in the implementation of global, regional, and/or local procurement strategies for production equipment

  • Market analysis and identification of potential suppliers worldwide

  • Responsibility for tendering/RFP (Request for proposal) for production equipment, predominantly for our locations in Switzerland

  • Responsibility for conducting (contract) negotiations with suppliers, based on Swiss law, using predefined contract drafts or terms and conditions to secure optimal prices and conditions

  • Evaluation and selection of suppliers based on quality, price, and delivery criteria

  • Management of supplier relationships and ensuring compliance with contract terms

  • Primarily for our locations in Switzerland, participation in large and medium-sized project teams and collaboration with internal departments such as production and engineering to coordinate the procurement process

  • Ensuring the on-time delivery of production equipment and avoiding supply bottlenecks

  • Monitoring and improving supplier performance and the procurement process

  • Preparation of reports and analyses to support decision-making

  • Advising departments on commercial matters

  • Continuous improvement of the procurement department, consolidation and optimization of the supplier portfolio

Who you are

  • Bachelor degree in business administration, engineering, or a comparable qualification

  • Several years of professional experience in procurement and supplier management, ideally in the area of production facilities

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, as well as consulting skills, persuasiveness, and resilience

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Experience with ERP systems and other procurement software

  • Knowledge of market trends and the supplier landscape in the area of production facilities

  • Network within the production equipment supplier landscape, ideally in the pharmaceutical industry

  • Very good written and spoken German and English skills

  • Teamwork skills and the ability to work in a dynamic environment

  • Proven project management skills

  • Experience in Swiss (contract) law

travel activity: approx. 20% - predominantly Switzerland (Basel & Rotkreuz)
