Your responsibilities

  • Perform the alignment of various components in experimental setups and areas, ensure the maintenance of the related survey infrastructure and geodetic networks;
  • Perform metrology measurements at all stages for the physics detectors, using laser trackers, total stations or photogrammetry, including the preparation, the execution, and the data analysis;
  • Perform and compute “as built” measurements using laser scanner technology;
  • Prepare documentation related to these tasks;
  • Perform calibration, checking, and testing of survey instrumentation and accessories.

Your profile

Skills

  • Knowledge and application of high-precision survey methods and tools, including laser tracker, total stations, photogrammetry;
  • Experience with standard compensation software: theories, concepts, and algorithms related to least squares adjustment;
  • Basic use of laser scanning instruments and software;
  • Ability to work well in teams, participate actively, and adapt quickly to shifting priorities;
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of French is an advantage.

Eligibility criteria:

  • You are a national of a country eligible for this position.
  • By the application deadline, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Survey Engineering (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
  • You have never held a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
  • Applicants without a University degree are not eligible.
  • Applicants with a PhD are not eligible.

Additional Information

Contract duration: 24 months, with a possible extension up to 36 months.

Working hours: 40 hours per week.

This position involves:

  • Work in Radiation Areas.
  • Interventions in underground installations.
  • A valid driving license.
  • Exposure to electromagnetic fields under certain conditions.

Candidates must obtain medical clearance before contract confirmation due to occupational health risks.
