Applications Engineer

Location: Neuchâtel, Switzerland (Hybrid)

Job Summary:

Searching for a talented semiconductor Applications Engineer with direct experience related to magnetic/hall sensing devices in automotive, industrial or consumer applications.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead new products validation to ensure compliance to specifications and expected functional behavior.
2. Generate datasheets, application notes and other technical documents to promote Semtech PerSe products.
3. Develop and validate evaluation/demonstration boards including circuit schematic design, PCB layout and related software specifications.
4. Perform detailed competitive analysis based on documentation analysis and lab measurements.
5. Work closely with key customers to optimize Semtech sensing solutions for the target application and become the technical lead to support design-in activity through interfacing with customers, FAEs, sales and factory personnel.
6. Visit customer’s site to provide technical support and secure the design.
7. Hold technical trainings to sales/reps/distis/partners worldwide.
8. Low to Moderate Travel required – up to 20%.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. 3+ years related semiconductor Applications Engineering experience.
2. Experience with magnetic/hall sensing.
3. BSc., BSEE or equivalent degree required. MSEE preferred.
4. Good analog and mixed signal circuitry knowledge with hands-on experience in system, PCB design and complex lab setups.
5. Self-driven, strong troubleshooting skills as well as adhering to project deadlines and business objectives.
6. Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and share technical knowledge with colleagues.
7. Possesses strong communication skills, capable of interfacing effectively at all organizational levels, with a thorough command of the English language, both written and verbal.

Desired Qualifications:

1. Experience in automotive is highly desirable.
2. Experience with capacitive or other sensing technology is plus.
3. Bilingual abilities are highly desirable (French preferred, else German/Italian/Chinese/Korean/Japanese).
