About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern, within the Security department, the Safety & Security Officer is responsible for ensuring a safe environment for our guests and colleagues by following safety compliance, conducting patrols of the hotel and being responsible for the hotel’s key system. The Safety & Security Officer reports to the Security Manager.

As Safety & Security Officer, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

  1. Ensure safety compliance with all local and federal regulations
  2. Ensuring a safe environment for all guests and colleagues
  3. Member of the emergency response team
  4. Assist in the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures in all departments related to Fire Life Health Safety and Security
  5. Review and prepare incident, loss and accident reports
  6. Responsibility for the implementation of fire safety guidelines
  7. You are proficient in handling the hotel's own key system
  8. Responsibility for the safeguarding of hotel property
  9. Conduct patrols of the property
  10. Conduct security equipment inspection
  11. Immediately report hotel deficiencies to appropriate departments

As Safety & Security Officer, we expect from you:

  1. Profound working experience in the security sector, preferably in the hospitality sector
  2. Good communication skills and pleasant personality
  3. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and under pressure
  4. CPR/First aid certified is an advantage
  5. Good computer skills
  6. Fluent in English and German
  7. Leadership, organizational skills and the ability to lead a team of employees from different cultures with sensitivity and discipline
  8. Handle situations without raising antagonism or hostility
  9. Resilience and flexibility - your position includes weekend, night and holiday shifts
