Job Description
The position is located in the Office of the Director-General, in the Beyond Lab, under the direct supervision of the Chief of the Lab.
Responsibilities
Provides planning support to the Beyond Lab’s Director and senior team members on calendar management, scheduling, and coordinating meetings with internal and external partners.
Carries out ad hoc tasks as required by the Director or senior team members.
Contributes to developing strategies and innovative approaches to foster partnerships (financial and non-financial) with public and private sector entities, including the UN system, multilateral organizations, academia, civil society, and the private sector, supporting the Lab’s vision of sustainability.
Supports resource mobilization by developing funding proposals and materials to support the Lab’s thematic areas.
Helps establish and maintain relationships with key partners, facilitating strategic consultations aligned with the Lab’s priorities.
Acts as the Lab’s focal point with Geneva-based technology and sciences partners such as GESDA or ITU.
Works on projects that promote intergenerational impact and participatory engagement, including developing new methodologies and policy tools.
Provides support to the Lab’s management in preparing inputs for UNOG’s leadership on innovation, sustainable development, and long-term sustainability issues, including briefing notes.
Contributes to research and the development of products on emerging themes related to participatory policymaking, innovation, and sustainability, with a focus on intergenerational impact and values-based development models.
Education
Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in international relations, intergovernmental affairs, political science, social innovation, design thinking, sustainability, or related fields.
Alternatively, a first-level university degree with two additional years of relevant experience may be accepted.
Work Experience
At least two years of relevant experience in policy research, analysis, political affairs, design thinking, or social innovation.
Experience in policy and strategy design and intergovernmental collaboration is desirable.
Experience in designing anticipatory and participatory processes is desirable.
Previous experience supporting senior UN or international organization officials is desirable.
Languages
Fluency in English is required.
Knowledge of French or another UN official language is desirable.
