Job Overview

As an Injection Molder at SHL Medical, you play a key role in ensuring the efficiency and quality of our injection molding processes.

You are responsible for commissioning the injection molding production, optimizing processes, programming machines, and ensuring compliance with internal regulations. Your technical expertise is crucial for troubleshooting, supporting audits, and collaborating with the maintenance team to keep equipment in optimal condition.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Perform tool changes, program, and set up injection molding machines following all guidelines.
  2. Program and set up linear robots in accordance with all regulations.
  3. Provide technical support to the injection molding department, troubleshoot issues, and maintain existing processes.
  4. Collaborate with the maintenance team on preventive maintenance and ad-hoc repairs.
  5. Assist with resolving issues related to the Motan resin distribution system.
  6. Optimize injection molding processes according to internal standards.
  7. Prepare and assist in qualification of injection molded parts, machines, and equipment.
  8. Conduct systematic problem-solving with support from the production manager and technical staff.
  9. Share expertise as a trainer for apprentices and staff within internal training programs.
  10. Assist the production manager during audits.
  11. Contribute actively to continuous improvement initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Completed apprenticeship as a plastics technologist EFZ with experience in injection molding.
  2. At least 3 years of professional experience in this field (more experience is advantageous).
  3. Self-reliant, precise, and clean working with a strong focus on quality.
  4. Excellent teamwork and cooperation skills.
  5. Strong documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience in injection molding and automated assembly.
  2. Green Belt or higher Six Sigma certification.

This position requires participation in a rotating shift schedule covering both early and late shifts. Candidates must be flexible to work within these scheduled hours.

Physical Requirements

  1. Regular use of hands for precise movements, e.g., operating objects, tools, or control devices.
  2. Ability to grasp and work with hands.
  3. Ability to recognize details at close range (within arm's length).
  4. Prolonged standing and sitting are required.
  5. Bending, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
  6. Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
  7. Lifting and moving objects up to 10 kg.
