For our R&D department, we are seeking a Materials Engineering Intern (EPFL).

Job Description

1. Analyze the manufacturing process of watch hands and identify critical operations affecting quality.
2. Conduct a state-of-the-art review of brass machining techniques to achieve the desired surface finish.
3. Study the impact of thermal treatments, surface preparation of brass parts, tools, and machine parameters on the final product.
4. Propose and conduct tests to validate hypotheses.
5. Document the results to facilitate their use in production.

Candidate Profile

• Currently pursuing a master's degree in materials, mechanical engineering, or metallurgy at EPFL.
• Autonomous, proactive, and rigorous.
• Interest in hands-on work.
• Creative with strong analytical and synthesis skills.
• Team-oriented with good interpersonal skills.
